Digital Television Group

1999: This is the whole twenty minute programme that I was commissioned to make by Kevin Cook at The Digital Television Group. They needed to explain and promote the coming wave of Digital Television to Aerial Riggers and TV Retailers so I Used Chris Theobald as a vehicle to ask experts in terrestrial transmission, Aerial Rigging, Aerial test & alignment Equipment and TV retailers to explain Digital TV in simple terms. To get all the shots I needed I went on location to Triax factories in Denmark and South Wales, Pace factories in Yorkshire, Emley Moor Television Transmission tower in Yorkshire where NTL (now Arqiva) monitor TV quality from all their transmitters across the UK. Also London for BBC TV centre and Channel 4 HQ. A TV shop in Birmingham and my house where we fitted three new Aerials. Finally we shot a couple of interviews in the Italian Coffee bar at Cable & Wireless exhibition in Earls Court London. I assembled the whole programme with clips supplied by OnDigital, Sony and BBC research. I added a custom written and produced music soundtrack by Dave Williams. I felt that this matched the clients brief very well but as far as I can tell they never used it! Go figure……
